How to Make a Booklet Using 11" x 17" Paper

HOW TO MAKE A BOOKLET USING 11" x 17" PAPER

Have you ever had to make a 8.5" x 11" catalog or a booklet using 11" x 17" paper?

The hardest part is how to layout your design for print. Pages do not print in numerical order if you were to just print them out from start to finish. To be able to staple together a full 11" x 17" paper and flip through it like a book - in page order, you will have to use a specific formula to make your booklet in order.
I have solved this problem!

But first, if you don't quite understand, let's see another example..
(Page 2 is on the reverse side of page 3
& page 5 is on the reverse side of page 4.)

Therefore, Page A's print layout is the Front and Back Cover on one side & page 1 & 6 on the other.

And page B's print layout is page 2 & 5 on one side and 3 & 4 on the other.

So the print layout would look like this...

Now if we stapled those two pages together, you would get a booklet that is in order.

I came up with an easy to use diagram to show you which pages go where so you know which pages to group together to complete the booklet.

You can add or subtract entire 11" x 17" papers to fit how ever many pages you need, but keep this in mind; You can only add or subtract in intervals of 4! It is impossible to create this type of booklet with, for instance, 19 pages. If you want more than 18, the next interval is 22.

To make your own diagram, just start from 1 where the diagram above does, then number your pages downward, like so. Once you hit the middle page, start numbering up until you get to the last page.

IT'S THAT EASY!
